He is able.

Hebrews 5:7 (NLT) 7 While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could deliver him out of death. And God heard his prayers because of his reverence for God.

When I read this, it rocked my world. Here you have the Savoir of the world broken, weeping, pleading with God the Father for what is about to take place. I love it that Jesus believed that God could do something about it. God was able, so Jesus went to Him, broken.

God heard because Jesus was humbly coming before him in reverence. Not answering His cell phone while He praying, He wasn't texting anyone in the middle of His prayer. He was reverent. His mind, emotions and body were being poured out to the One who was able.

This is a place that I need to spend more time. Being broken, weeping for the things of God and pleading to the one who can deliver or who is able.

Awesome Tim. My favorite line from the song Hosanna is,"Break my heart for what breaks Yours." More of Him and less of us. Thanks for the blog Tim.
